This photo appears to have been taken from the southwest side of the grounds of the Alaska Yukon Pacific Exposition, across from an arm of Union Lake. The dome of the U.S. Government Building is visible to the left of the center, and the Battle of Gettysburg theater is at the far right, above the plume of wafting smoke.

There is also an Image 278 (278 - The Landing Lake Cushman Wn.) showing the lake near Lilliwaup, where his wife and daughters lived while he worked in Seattle. Perhaps Otto reused the image number because no one would be interested in an A.Y.P.E. card after the exposition ended.
